Wilma E. Long, 95, of Bellevue, WA, and formerly of Elmore and Graytown, OH, died Wednesday at Overlake Hospital Medical Center, Bellevue, after a slow decline, and a massive stroke. She was born in Graytown on June 15, 1913, the daughter of the late William & Edith (Klingbeil) Hille. Wilma was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School, and attended Davis Business School. She worked at several companies in the Toledo area, including the Gulf Oil Refinery. On April 21, 1940, Wilma married Wilbur A. Long. After World War II, they resided in Graytown. Following her husband's death in 1968, Wilma worked at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, and was the secretary at Woodmore High School in Elmore. She then moved to live near her children and grandchildren in the Seattle, Washington area. There, she was active in the Overlake Park Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, WA and also worked at the "Little Professor" book store. Wilma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cari Long; son-in-law, Dave Whittington, grandchildren, Brian Long, Kathleen Long, Joanna Chellew, Brice Deitzel, Elizabeth Deitzel, and Sarah Whittington. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren. Wilma was deeply saddened by the death of her daughter Jane in 2006. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Earl and Arnold Hille. Friends are invited to call after 9 A.M. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Trinity United Church of Christ, Elliston, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Rev. Lowell Peters will officiate, and interment will follow in Elliston Cemetery. A luncheon will be served following the services.
