William Merle Igo 2/21/1954 6/12/2015 Passed from this life unexpectedly at home in Marblehead, Ohio. Preceded in death by his father, James Wellor Igo. Bill is survived by his mother Virginia Scott Igo; brothers Daniel ( Joan ) Igo, James (Ruth) Igo, and sister Becky Hazelbaker ( Richard Puppel). Also remembered by his nieces Aimee (Jim ) Carney, Robin (Jon) Crawford, Linnea Igo (Oliver Long ), Cathy Allen (Gary); nephews Joseph ( Laura ) Hazelbaker, and C.P.O Kevin Igo U.S.N.; cousins Richard (Carol ) Igo, Cindy Farrell; and neighbor Donald Inman. Bill lived most of his life in the Beechwold area of Columbus, Ohio, graduating from Whetstone High School in 1972. He was an entrepreneur and owned a 50s and 60s retro-antique shop in Clintonville before moving to Marblehead, Ohio. Some of Bill's many interests included drawing, music, travel, antiques, and the environment. An avid gardener, Bill would often say "plant a tree". While in Marblehead, Bill became interested in the local wildlife and supported Back To The Wild Wildlife and Rehabilitation Center. He also supported The Humane Society of Ottawa County, fostering animals awaiting adoption. Bill loved Ohio and the quiet environment of the parks in the Lake Erie area and especially loved South Bass Island. Bill was a kind and thoughtful man who left us too soon and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
