Thomas A. Mehlow

Thomas A. Mehlow, 86, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. He was born in rural Oak Harbor on August 21, 1928, a son of Lester & Anna (Tasch) Mehlow. Tom was a 1946 graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Salem Township. A retired employee of Celotex in Port Clinton, Tom previously worked for the former Matthews Boat Company and Michigan Transport. Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Mary K. Mehlow; children, Kaye A. (Robert) Lipstraw, Randall T. Mehlow, Kimberly M. Mehlow, Karla J. Mehlow, Kristin L. Mehlow, and Kerry E. (Russell) Adkins. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 step great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Richard Mehlow. Private family graveside services will be held at Roose Cemetery, Salem Township. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Stein Hospice.
