Thelma W. Willey, 95, lifelong resident of Elmore, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at Genoa Care Center. She was born November 7, 1913 in Oak Harbor, OH to the late William and Ethel (Ferris) Schroeder. She was a graduate of Harris-Elmore High School. On July 23, 1938 she married Walter C. Willey who preceded her in death on April 29, 1998. Mrs. Willey was a homemaker and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore. She was active in the church Honor Workers and Needle Workers for many years. She enjoyed traveling, doing crafts and playing board games. Since 2002 she had been in the Genoa Retirement Center where she partook in many activities but especially loved to play bingo and have her hair done. Survivors include her son, Terry (Cathy) Willey of Elmore; daughter, Karen (Samuel) Lange of Toledo; grandchildren, Kimberly (Greg) Wasielewski, Kelly (Joe) Munger, Bryan (Heather) Willey, Chris (Jennifer) Willey, and Tracy Rachow; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Willey; brothers, Harold, Robert, and Charles Schroeder; and sisters, Leta Gardner and Geraldine Longenecker. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8pm with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore with Rev. Steven Simpson and Rev. John W. Bock officiating. Burial will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery.
