Terrence O. Flynn

Terrence O. Flynn, 87, of Marblehead, Ohio passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, December 19, 2014. He was born on April 26, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Edward and Mary (Smith) Flynn. Terry was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving on the USS Hopewell DD681 during World War II. He was employed as a mechanic at LaFarge Quarry in Marblehead, formerly known as Standard Slag until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Amvets Post #17 in Sandusky, Ohio as well as a member of the VFW Post #7572 in Marblehead. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and feeding and watching the birds. Survivors include his children: Theresa (Dave) Norgard, Manitou Beach, Michigan; Edward (Debbie) Flynn, Glenwood Springs, Colorado; Sheila Snyder (Jim Winters), Byhalia, Mississippi; Terrence Flynn, Port Clinton; grandchildren: Melinda Cooley, Michelle Cooley, Jim Norgard, Jill Rodenhauser, Matt Norgard, Dave Norgard, T.J. Flynn, Amy Flynn, Emily Flynn-Cruz, Nicole Flynn-Mueller, Amber Flynn; nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Norah Bird, Marblehead; Norma Jean Monak, Marblehead; Sharon Guba, Sandusky, Ohio; Joyce Uhinck, Michigan; brother: Keith Flynn, Peabody, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson: Nathan Flynn; his significant other: Carolyn McGowan; and brother: Lawrence Flynn. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 3-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. Graveside Services and burial will be held on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 10am at LaCarpe Cemetery in Lacarne, Ohio.
