Steve A. Wylie, 53, of Catawba Island, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at his residence. He was born October 12, 1954 in Port Clinton, the son of Ernest B. and Anna (Goins) Wylie. He married Garnetta P. Moreland on July 21, 2006 and she survives. Mr. Wylie was a heavy equipment operator working out of Local 18 Ohio Operating Engineers. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a Port Clinton Class of 1972 graduate serving as class vice-president and also a member of the swim and dive team. Surviving are his wife: Garnetta; step-son: Michael (Teri) Moreland of Hardinsburg, KY; mother: Anna L. Wylie of Port Clinton; brothers: Ernie L. (Kathy) of Port Clinton, Roger D. (Debra) of Sandusky, Richard G. (Dianne) of Port Clinton; sisters: Yvonda A. (Mike) Bates of Frankfort, KY, Kathryn J. (Bob) Capacasa of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law: June Wylie of Port Clinton; step-grandchildren: Carsen and Chandler Moreland and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Jeanne (Kirwan); father Ernest B. Wylie and brother Frank D. Wylie, Sr. Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, LakesideMarblehead, OH where visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 pm. Rev. Kurt Borows will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Ottawa County.
