Stephen "Steve" J Turinsky

Stephen J. “Steve” Turinsky, 70, of Marblehead passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 after many years of battling health issues. He was born May 3, 1950 in Port Clinton the son of Coleman and Anna (Richick) Turinsky. He married Michele “Mimi” Sauvey on October 17, 1970. Steve graduated from Danbury High School and was a United States Coast Guard Veteran. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead. Steve was a tow motor operator for GM New Departure retiring in 2007 and a commercial fisherman with Turinsky Brothers. A quiet man, referred to as “A Gentle Giant” he would help anyone and loved spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his wife: Mimi; children: Gwen (Mike) Valenti of Marblehead, Adam (Amy) Turinsky of Pismo Beach, CA, Jacki (Tyler) Brown of Marblehead, Ann Turinsky of Fremont; grandchildren: Andrew (Hannah) Turinsky, Mallory Kukay, Stephanie Kukay, Ellie Kukay, Olivia Valenti, Presley Valenti, Lillie Turinsky, Levi Turinsky, Lewis Turinsky, Lia Brown, Maci Brown: great-grandchildren: Logan Turinsky, Addie Turinsky; brother: Michael (Brenda) Turinsky of Marblehead; sister: Carol (Newberry) Mitchell of Marblehead, Pauline (Michael) O’Toole of Ormond Beach, FL, Mary (Terry) Slauterbeck of Marblehead; sister-in-law: Renee Turinsky of Marblehead and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Jerry Turinsky. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Father James Brown, 10:00 am Monday, October 12, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay, Marblehead, OH followed by interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Marblehead, OH.
