Stanley Tucholski

Stanley Tucholski, Jr., 81, of Port Clinton, Ohio died peacefully with his wife by his side on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton. He was born on February 8, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Stanley and Catherine (Porturaski) Tucholski, Sr. He began his working career in 1948 as a brakeman for New York Central and Penn Central Railroads in Toledo, Ohio until he became a Freight Conductor at Conrail Railroad in Toledo having retired on March 13, 1992 after 44 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton; and the United Transportation Unit (Railroad Union) out of Toledo. He was an avid fisherman as he loved being out on Lake Erie. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening, especially growing cabbage plants and tomatoes, as well as flower gardening. Growing up with four sisters he learned how to dance, and enjoyed dancing to polkas and the jitter bug. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Krysztofiak) whom he married on November 6, 1965; sisters: Dorothy Michalski, Maumee, OH and Ruthe (Robert) Hartwig, Toledo, OH; brother-in-law: Charlie Urzykowski, Toledo, OH; several nieces and nephews; close friends: Phyllis and Ron Howell, Port Clinton; and his canine poodle companion: Misa. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters: Mary Ann Norkowski and Rita Urzykowski. There will be no visitation or services as cremation has taken place.
