Stan E. Mccumber, Jr.

Stan E. McCumber, Jr., 61, of Catawba Island, died Saturday September 13, 2008 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. He was born April 20, 1947 in Port Clinton, the son of Stan E. and Ruth (Fluharty) McCumber, Sr. Stan was retired from National City Bank. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Stan was the president of the Catawba Island Zoning Board and was the treasurer of the Ottawa County Home Builders Association. He was a past member of the Erie County Home Builders Association and the Port Clinton Kiwanis. Surviving is his wife Carol (Kukay) whom he married on August 26, 1978; daughter Erin McCumber of Kent and Catawba Island; his parents Stan and Ruth McCumber of Port Clinton; brother Richard McCumber of Marblehead and Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 5-8 Wednesday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Marblehead where funeral services will be at 11 am Thursday. The Rev. Ralph Schibler will officiate. Burial will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Stein Hospice.
