Shirley J. (Fought) Missig, 86, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. A daughter of Charles E. & Harriet B. (Bredbeck) Fought, she was born on December 13, 1930 in an apartment over her grandfathers barber shop in Oak Harbor. Shirley was a graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School, and was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, where she was a member of the Womens Guild Very active in the Ottawa County Democratic Party, Shirley served as their secretary for many years. She was elected Ottawa County Clerk of Courts in 1984, and served in that capacity until retiring on her birthday in 1996. Shirley was also a lifetime member of Riverview Auxiliary. On August 12, 1978, she married Edwin "Bud" Missig, and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2006. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Eva Marie Morris, and Alice (Roger) Kirkendall, both of Oak Harbor, and Amy (Robert) Wuest, Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Cody Kirkendall, Kristen Kirkendall, Robert Wuest, and Ryan Wuest; special niece, Ramona Judd, and many other nieces & nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shirley Kim Morris; son, James L. Morris; sister, Joanne Judd, and brother, Charles G. Fought. Friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Friday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. Rev. David A. Voll will officiate, and private interment will be at a later date at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the church. Those planning on making memorial contributions are asked to consider the Memorial Fund of St. Paul United Church of Christ.
