Ruth N. Freeh, 93, of Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio died peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2015 (the anniversary of her sister Grace's passing) at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, Ohio, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 18, 1921 in Frederick, Maryland, the daughter of the late John and Ethel (Leatherman) Horine. Ruth married George Freeh on November 17, 1944 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick. They moved to Port Clinton, Ohio in January of 1946. Ruth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton and a member of the Priscilla Circle. She was a twenty year volunteer for Magruder Hospital and a member of the Magruder Auxiliary. She served on the Board and various committees at Otterbein Northshore, and assisted at the Gift Shop. Survivors include her son: Chris (and wife Helmi) Freeh; grandchildren: Liisa Freeh and Jacob Freeh; her special niece: Marsha Miller, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Linda Conner; sisters: Grace Ridgely and Helen Keller; as well as an infant brother: John. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. All are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at noon at St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams Street, Port Clinton, with Pastor James Lehman officiating. Interment and services will be held at a later date in Middletown, Maryland.
