Ruth A. Ray-Ross

Ruth A. Ray Ross, 51, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, and formerly of Rocky Ridge, Ohio, died Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills, Zephyrhills, Florida. Ruth was born in Oregon, Ohio on December 26, 1955, a daughter of Shirley R. & Laura Irene (Wilburn) Ray. A long time employee of the airline industry, Ruth worked for the former Piedmont Airlines in Charlotte, NC. She transferred to Tampa, FL when Piedmont became USAir. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed flowers of all kinds which she grew around her home. Ruth enjoyed wildlife, and often assisted at a bird sanctuary near her Florida home. On November 24, 1972, she married James W. Ross, Jr., and he survives. Also surviving is her mother, Laura Irene Ray, Rocky Ridge, OH; sons, Eric Ross, Jeffrey Ross, and Ryan Ross, all of Wesley Chapel, FL; her sibilings, Connie (Dick) Burns, Genoa, OH, Robert (Rita) Ray, Limestone, OH, Richard (Ronda) Ray, Graytown, OH, Larry (Sue) Ray, Graytown, OH, Donald (Suzi) Ray, Graytown, OH, Rehva (Bill) Cowan, Genoa, OH, William (Diane) Ray, Rocky Ridge, OH, Melody (Art) Pepper, Chillicothe, OH, and Sherry (Bryan) Jenkins, Rocky Ridge, OH; grandchildren, Adam, Kayla, and Tyler Ross; 23 nieces and nephews, and her black lab, Joe. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday.
