Royce E. Mcquary

Royce E. McQuary, 89, of Elmore, Ohio, and formerly of Fremont, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa, Ohio. He was born in Texas on December 26, 1928, a son of the late Fred & Thelma McQuary. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was a pipefitter for many years, working all over the country, including the Alaska oil fields. A "good Christian man", Royce was an active member of Grace Baptist Church, Oak Harbor. On February 15, 2009, he married the former Ruby E. Blackburn, and she survives. Also surviving is his step-son, Danny (Diane) Prater, Elmore; daughter, Debbie and family; brother, J.T. McQuary, and sister, Joyce (Walter) Dean. The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Thursday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 West State Route 51, Elmore. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Grace Baptist Church, 325 S. Toussaint-Portage Rd., Oak Harbor, where visitation will be after 10:00 AM Friday. Pastor Rick Bickelhaupt will officiate, and interment will be at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the church. Those planning on making memorial contributions are asked to please consider Grace Baptist Church.
