Roberta M. Giesler

Roberta Giesler, 88, of Elmore, Ohio, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. She was born in New Rochester, Ohio on December 29, 1925, a daughter of Charles & Marie (Hohls) Abke. Roberta was a retired employee of Oregon City Schools, where she worked in the financial office. She formerly had worked for Penta Career Center, Perrysburg. Roberta was a member of St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church, Elmore. A very family oriented person, she greatly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Roberta married Gilbert C. Giesler on December 13, 1947, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1995 after nearly 48 years of marriage. She is survived by her sons, William (Jeannine) Giesler and Douglas (Marcia) Giesler, both of Elmore; daughter, Jill Giesler, Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Rorey Martin, Richard Giesler, Kelsey Webb, and Michelle Weller; and great-grandchildren, Kyan, Lexie, Cooper, and Brady. Roberta is also survived by her sister, Margaret Snyder, Luckey, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Paul, Norman, Robert, Ted, and Melvin Abke; and sisters, Frieda Lipp and Irene Henschen. The family will receive friends from 3-7 P.M. Wednesday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. S.R. 51, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 20, 2014. Rev. Robert Rakay will officiate, and interment will follow at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church, Elmore, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio.
