Robert L. Biggert, 83, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, OH. He was born in Carroll Township, Ottawa County on May 13, 1932, a son of Henry & Iva (Jeremy) Biggert. On August 5, 1951, he married the former Dorothy W. Wendt. Bob was a retired employee of Uniroyal, Inc. and worked for 10 years at the former Erie Army Depot. He also was a commercial fisherman and farmer, assisted Carroll Township Fire & E.M.S., and was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Bob and Dorothy were members of the Oak Harbor Athletic Boosters, and always prepared the meals for the "Team Feeds" for the home football games. An active outdoorsman, Bob loved fishing, hunting, and trapping, but especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Dorothy; his children, Lester (Cheryl) Biggert, Rodney (Beth) Biggert, Rebecca (Mike) Weidner, Marleen (Robert) Madison, Calvin Biggert, and Alvin (Marilyn) Biggert, all of Oak Harbor; brother, Clifford (Janis) Biggert, Oak Harbor; and sister, Bonnie (Jim) Crosby, Oak Harbor. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harvey Cover and Charles Biggert; sisters, Gladys Wadsworth, Geraldine Schlessner, and Beulah Huskey; and a granddaughter, Elicia. Family and friends are invited to call from 2-8 P.M. Wednesday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday. Pastor John Stirewalt will officiate, and interment will be in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the Carroll Township Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Township Fire & E.M.S. or the Memorial Fund of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church.
