Robert E. Wainwright

Robert Earl Wainwright, 87 of Oak Harbor, OH died Monday, February 22, 2016 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born October 18, 1928 in Oak Harbor, OH to the late Walter and Catherine (Glaser) Wainwright. He served in the United States Army National Guard from 1948-52. Bob retired from the Oak Harbor Street Department in 2004. He also held previous employments at: Erie Ordinance Depot, Kranz Construction, Cooper Tire, Russ Wheeler Trucking, Mulligan L.P. Gas, Ohio Turnpike, F.M.B. Marathon Gas & Splash, Uniroyal, and a dispatcher for the Oak Harbor Police Department. Survivors include his children: Robert (Jeanie) Wainwright II of North Carolina, Anthony (Kathy) Wainwright of Texas, and Patricia (Andrew) Haley of Oak Harbor, OH; sister Dolores "Sis" Schmid of Florida; grandchildren: Jeffrey DeTray, Jolene Sandrock, Margie Zunk, Patrick Winters, Jr., Nathan Wainwright and Jason Wainwright; great- grandchildren: Colin, Aaron, & Abigail Sandrock, Ethan & Olivia DeTray, Sophia & Billy, Jr., Zunk, Collin, Hannah, & Madeline Wainwright; nieces and nephews: Larry, Laura, David Schmid and Mary Beth Ulmer. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Biggert. Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Private Graveside services will be held in Salem Twp. Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor where he will be interred. Memorial Contributions may be made to Riverview Health Care Auxiliary.
