Robert E. Paule

Robert E. Paule, 89 of Elmore, OH left his earthly home peacefully, Sunday, November 05, 2017 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. Bob was born June 23, 1928 to the late Edwin and Edith (Hetrick) Paule at the Family Farm on State Route 590 in Elmore. On June 10, 1950 he married Marianne (Mitzie) Wegner in Oak Harbor and together they raised four sons. He was a baptized member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor and a current member of Grace Lutheran Church, Elmore. A graduate of Harris- Elmore High School, Bob farmed, plastered, owned the Welcome Inn in the 1950's and late owned the Portage Inn, Elmore. A life member of the American Legion Post #279, Elmore, his military time was during the Korean War and in 2012 was awarded the Ottawa County Veteran of the Year. Bob was a people person, enjoyed cooking at the PI and Legion Hall, a member of the Auxiliary Ohio State Patrol, and loved his Buckeyes and Red Soxs. Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mitzie of Elmore, OH; sons: Steve (Brenda) Paule of Mesa, AZ, Tom (Julie) Paule of Elmore, and Reg (Diane) Paule of Harrod, OH; grandchildren: Pat (Mandy) Paule, Pete Paule, Michelle Burroughs, Bryce (Rachael) Paule, Taryn (Heath) Slack, Nick (Erin) Paule, Shane Paule, and Shena (Kris) Klinger; great- grandchildren: Drew, Dylan, Isaac, Cade, Callie, Reed, Autumn, Adalyn, Kira, Innessa, Aston and Kami, whom will all miss his hugs, warm smile, sense of humor and long talks of sports. He was also preceded in death by his son Barrett Paule, and sisters Jean Butler and Thelma Havens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore- Genoa Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church, Elmore. Burial will be in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #279, or Harris- Elmore Fire Department.
