Richard P. Sievert

     Richard P. Sievert, 76 of Oak Harbor, OH died Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor. He was born July 14, 1948 in Graytown, OH to the late Donald L. and Rose (Distel) Sievert. He was a 1966 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and received his Bachelors of Education from the University of Toledo. Dick spent 30 years as a 5th grade teacher at Carroll Elementary School in the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District. On March 16, 1974 he married the former Vicki Lee (Sproul) who preceded him in death on December 23, 2020.

     Dick was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. He spent most of his time playing softball back in the 70's and 80's. He was inducted into the 1960-1984 State of Ohio Slow Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. Dick also spent a lot of his free time as an umpire for softball & volleyball, as well as a coach for the Oak Harbor track team. Dick loved being “the voice” for the Oak Harbor Rockets High School basketball games as an announcer, for over 30 years.

     Survivors include his children: Michael W. Sievert and Cassandra R. (James) White, both of Elmore, OH; grandchildren: Ryan, Samantha, Michael, and Nicholas Sievert, Connor, Emilee and Joseph Barr, and Elijah White; and brother Don Sievert of Graytown, OH. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law Jeannine Sievert.

     Visitation will be 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, Port Clinton Chapel, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, OH 43452. A Memorial Service will begin at 1pm Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Funeral Home with burial to be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor at a later date and held privately by the family.
