Patricia A. Zunk

Patricia A. Zunk, 57, of Elmore died Friday October 16, 2015 at her residence. She was born December 10, 1957 in Port Clinton, the daughter of Earl and Wilma (Campbell) Williams. She was adopted by Joseph W. and Betty Jane (Stallard) Martikan at birth. After Joseph's death, Patricia was raised by Betty Jane and her second husband, Paul Carman. Patty worked at the former Aim Packaging. Growing up in a restaurant owned by her family, she acquired talent in the kitchen and went on to cook at many area establishments. Patty shared cherished recipes in hand-typed cookbooks personally gifted to fortunate friends and family. She enjoyed paint-by-number oil painting and adored animals, especially those that she lovingly nursed back to health. Patty had a true gift of patience and care for plants and animals of all kinds- from birds to avocados, tomatoes to cats. She was content for hours listening to her beloved Elvis Presley or fishing in roadside creeks. Many loved ones will miss her famous singing telephone calls to wish happy birthday and anniversary. Surviving are: her significant other, Tony Kondert of Elmore; sisters: Betty Jane Henthorn of Olive Hill, KY, Susie (Roger) Radsick of Oak Harbor, Paula (Dave) Balatincz of Cottage Grove, MN; brothers: Ted (Marni Hernandez) Carman of Norman, OK, Tim (Amy) Martikan of Fremont, Mike Carman of Waynesboro, GA, Chuck (Jane) Carman of Hubert, NC and numerous nieces and nephews, and her cat, George. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, October 23, 2015 at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St. Oak Harbor, OH where visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, OH. Rev. John Stirewalt will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Humane Society of Ottawa County, 2424 E. Sand Rd. Port Clinton, OH 43452.
