Murlyn A. Schneider

Muryln A. Schneider, 87 of Elmore, OH died Friday, May 15, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 24, 1927 in Toledo, OH to the late Henry and Edna (Howarth) Bothe. She was a 1946 graduate of Harris- Elmore High School. On June 5, 1949 she married Charles W. Schneider who preceded her in death January 22, 2010. Murlyn was a wonderful and loving mother raising 9 children she spent a lot of time at home. She was a very active member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore serving as an Honor Worker, 20 years as Sunday School Superintendant, and lifetime member of the Choir. She was a 68 year member of the Order of Eastern Star for both, former Elmore Chapter #306 and current Perrysburg Chapter #446 of which she was 7 time Worthy Matron. She served the Order of Eastern Star as Grand Page, 1984; Past President of District 6, 1986, and Grand Representative of Alberta in Ohio, 1991. She was also a 10 year member of the Daughter of Union Veterans of the Civil War (DUVCW). Murlyn was a genealogist and also held memberships with the Elmore Historical Society and National DeSoto Club. Survivors include her children: Margie (Sam) Schermerhorn of Toledo, OH, Steven H. Schneider of Elmore, Roger C. Schneider of Toledo, OH, Gary N. Schneider of Goodyear, AZ, Craig R. Schneider of Elmore, Michael R. (Sherry) Schneider of Lindsey, OH, Janet A. (Dwayne) Schermerhorn of Holland, OH, Jane M. Schneider of Elmore, and Nancy R. (Kevin) Medere of Millbury, OH; brother Kenneth (Marie) Krapp of Fremont, MI; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great- grandchildren. Graveside Services will begin at 11am Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harris- Elmore E.M.S., St. John's U.C.C., or Donor's Choice.
