Mike Conrad

Mike Conrad, 75, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, January 22, 2016 at his residence. He was born on August 8, 1940 in Marion, Ohio, the son of the late Clifford and Mary (McAndrew) Conrad. On July 2, 1960 he married Karen Wahlers and she survives. Mike worked as an Industrial Lift Truck Operator at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky for 37 years until his retirement in 2000. During that time he also owned and operated Conrad's Masonry Construction where he also worked for 10+ years. He was a member of the Port Clinton Elks Lodge 1718. He was an avid golfer, often seen playing in league at the Catawba Island Club or other area courses, and occasionally at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, usually poker, euchre, or spades, and also liked to fish. He was a very outgoing person, often seen taking in a conversation with a perfect stranger. Most importantly, he was a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Karen; son: Michael (Michelle) Conrad, Jr., Port Clinton; daughters: Debbie Nagy, Port Clinton and Shelly (Daniel) Miller, Grove City, Ohio; grandchildren: Matthew McGlothlin, Bryan McGlothlin, Whitney Conrad, Conrad Company, Daniel Miller, Caleb Conrad, Caitlin Conrad, five great-grandchildren; sister: Patricia Conrad, of Philippi, West Virginia; niece: Cheryl Alexander; nephews: Michael Beveridge and Steve Beveridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter: Hannah Conrad, and a sister: Suzie Conrad. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from noon until a Memorial Service at 1pm with Father John Missler officiating.
