Michael C. Koehne

Michael C. Koehne, 72, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2016 in Port Clinton, Ohio. He was born on January 11, 1944 in Port Clinton, the son of the late Ernest and Carrie (Spradlin) Koehne. Michael worked for over 28 years at the former Standard Products in Port Clinton, as well as at Uniroyal and Celotex. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Port Clinton. He is a current member and officer of the Eagles Lodge and a former member of the Elks, where he was the past leading Knight. He was also a social member of the VFW. He worked as a patrolman for the Port Clinton Police Department from 1967-1988. Michael enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with his family and friends, and with his good buddy Clutch. Survivors include his ex-wife, Eileen (Jerry) Salyers, Sandusky, Ohio; sons, Jason (Mary) Koehne, Fremont, Ohio and Christopher (Holli Miller) Koehne, Port Clinton; grandchildren, Josh, Debbie, and Jason; as well as his devoted canine companion, Clutch, AKA "fat boy" as he liked to call him. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Ruth. Per Michael's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1pm at Riverview Cemetery in Port Clinton. Port Clinton Eagles Chaplain Elex Ali will officiate. There will be a bereavement luncheon at the Eagles club immediately following for friends and family to join and share stories of Mike. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Michael Koehne Memorial Fund at Commodore Perry Federal Credit Union.
