Melvin Ross Clark, 91, of Marblehead, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on March 15, 1924 in Frankfort, Indiana, the son of the late Otto and Marie "Sadie" (Lee) Clark. On July 3, 1943 he married Violet Elston and she preceded him in death on July 28, 1985. Melvin was a veteran of the United States Navy serving our country during World War II. He was a truck driver for Michigan Transportation and Standard Oil for over 30 years until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Port Clinton Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1610; member of the Port Clinton VFW Post #2480 as well as a member of the Teamsters. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours tending to his vegetable garden as well as walking at the Meadow Beach Marsh. He had numerous fruit trees and loved to bake fruit pies to give to his neighbors and friends. He was a hard worker, making repairs on lawnmowers, as well as mowing lawns for others. He will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his son: Earl Clark, Albany, Ohio; daughters: Marie Kuhn, Toledo, Ohio and Barbara Provonsha, Albany, Ohio; son-in-law: Doug Kuhn, Erie, Michigan; grandchildren: Owen Kuhn, Timothy Clark, Jeff Buchannan, Shanan Boren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother: Sherman Clark, LaPort, Indiana; and sister: Mildred Potts, Ormand Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers: Otto, Albert, and Harold Clark, as well as a sister: Frances Bowling. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, on Monday, November 23, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
