Mauricio S. Silva

Mauricio S. Silva, 80, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, Ohio. He was born on December 14, 1926, in Concepcion, Texas, the son of the late Guadelupe and Marcella (Salinas) Silva. On August 9, 1976 he married Frances Spayed, and she preceded him in death in 2004. He had previously worked at Chrysler Plastics in Sandusky, Ohio as a machine operator. Mr. Silva was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, and was a member of the UAW Local 393 in Sandusky, Ohio. His hobbies included upholstering and working as a mechanic. Survivors include sons: Mauricio (Ester), Steven, Edward (Janie) Silva, all of San Antonio, TX; daughters: Oralia (Adam) Rosales, Fostoria, OH; Yolanda Torres, Port Clinton, OH; Mary (Noe) Torres, St. George, UT; Margaret (Carlos) Reyes, San Antonio, TX; Annita (Augden) Chamberline, San Antonio, TX; Verna (Clarence) Yontz, Bellevue, OH; Mary Soule, Montana; 24 Grandchildren; 40 Great-Grandchildren; brothers: Nick Silva, Port Clinton, OH; John (Estella) Silva, Fremont, OH; Emede (Mary) Silva, Helena, OH; Louis (Nancy)Silva, Port Clinton, OH; sister: Tencha Portales, Port Clinton, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers: Manuel and Joe Silva; and sister: Angela Marquez. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Monday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton St, Port Clinton, where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday. His son, Mauricio Silva will officiate and interment will be in Meadowgreen Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or Hospice.
