Mary S. Jacobs

Mary S. Jacobs, 52, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Friday, February 6, 2009, at her home. She was born on October 4, 1956, a daughter of Charles & Ardath (Chapman) DeGrisky. Mary was a 1974 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, where she was active in the handbell choir and the Rebecca Circle. An avid shopper, Mary also greatly enjoyed traveling, baking, and canning. She also looked forward to her trips to Windsor, but most especially loved spending time with family, and her girls. Mary was also active in the "Let's Talk it Over" support group. She was a decorator and was well known for her painting and wallpaper hanging. Mary is survived by her husband, Gene Jacobs; parents, Charles and Ardath DeGrisky, Oak Harbor; daughters, Kelly Hoskins and Laura Bebow, both of Miamisburg, OH, Heather Bebow, Parma Heights, OH, Beth Vannoy, Brookville, OH, Maureen Jacobs, Memphis, TN, and Alison Jacobs, Kalamazoo, MI; brothers, Charles (Barbara) DeGrisky, Peachtree City, GA, and John (Mary) DeGrisky, Oak Harbor; and her sister, Bonnie (Dale) Solze, Oak Harbor. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February, 9, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor S.E. Road, Oak Harbor, with Pastor Cheryl Wessel officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
