Mary Kelley

Mary Kelley, 80, of Oak Harbor died Monday, May 18, 2015, at home. She was born August 21, 1934 in Catletsburg, KY to the late Clarence & Hazel (Nichols) Perkins. In 1951 she married the late Fred R. "Buck" Kelley and together they created a beautiful family. Mary's life was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition she provided a home away from home for children of the community while their parents worked. Mary was an avid reader who enjoyed trips to the Oak Harbor Public Library. She never met a stranger as she walked daily thru Oak Harbor to stay active. Mary was proud supporter of the Cleveland Browns for over 30 years, and when it was game time her family and friends knew not to call! Mary and her best friend, Pat Wright, shared endless cups of coffee and hours of conversation. With her witty sense of humor, spunk, and no nonsense attitude Mary truly was one of a kind. Mary and her late husband were loving grandparents who found great joy playing and laughing with their grandchildren and later great-grandchildren. Her family will forever be thankful for the memories created in their home. She was preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters and grandson, Jeffrey Kelley. Survivors include sons, Michael (Diana) Kelley of Oak Harbor and John R. (Barbara) Kelley of Green Springs; daughter Cynthia Kelley of Sandusky; and grandchildren, Jennifer Kelley, Cheryl (Vincent) Kelley, Kelly (Eric) Lindsay, Jerry Porath, JR Wilson, Craig (Leslie) Porath, Sara Kelley, and Ryan Kelley; and 15 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, with the Rev. Kyle Timmons officiating.
