Mary Ellen Koras

Mary Ellen Koras, 92, of Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015. She was born on February 12, 1923, the daughter of William and Cathrine (Ruppert) Vaughan. She married James Derry and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1970. On March 8, 1974 she married Jack Koras and he survives. Mary Ellen was the owner/operator of the Lakeside Pines Restaurant in Deerfield Township, Ohio from 1971-1981. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead where she was also a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. Survivors include her husband: Jack; daughter: Catherine (Larry) Boggs, Sebring, OH; sons: James (Karina) Derry, Novato, CA, and Frank Derry, Cuyahoga Falls, OH; step-daughters: Kathleen (Timothy) Litz, Las Vegas, NV and Theresa (David) Gribble, Windham, OH; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law: Yetta Vaughan, Brecksville, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters:Frances Balinski, Lauretta Barnes; and brothers: Robert and William Vaughan. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Members of the Altar-Rosary will recite the rosary at 7pm. On Tuesday, October 13, 2015, additional visitation will he held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead, from 10am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am with Father Jim Brown and Father Daniel Ring officiating. Burial and Graveside Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 14 at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 480 W. Highland Road, Northfield, OH.
