Mary Butchko

Mary Engler Butchko, 97, of Port Clinton, passed peacefully on October 21, 2015 at Otterbein North Shore, Lakeside, OH. She was born May 25, 1918 in Port Clinton, OH the daughter of Joseph and Maria (Parobeck) Engler. She graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1936. After graduation she was hired by Albert and Clara Holzhauer immediately to work at Ohler and Holzhauer Plumbing and Heating where she worked for 45 years. She married John Charles Burchko on October 17, 1953 at St. Paul Slovak Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. Mr. Butchko preceded her in death on April 28, 2006. Mary was a member of St. Paul Slovak Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. Surviving are her nieces and nephews: Donna and Bob Gregg, Gary ad Joanne Engler, Louie and Laura Engler, Dennis and LaDonna Engler, Pete "Hank" and Darlene Butchko, Rev. John and Barbara Butchko, Kay Williams, Lynne Wittman, Carol Kristenak, Michelle Kastro and Joan Hudak; many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Eugene John Engler, Louis Samuel Engler, Andrew Engler, Joseph (Florence) Engler; sisters: Gizella Engler and Julia Anna (Ray) Coleman. Mary will be missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 pm Monday, October 26, 2015 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St., Port Clinton, OH where visitation will be held Monday from 11:30 am until the time of the service. Rev. John Butchko and Rev. Dennis Engler will be officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams St., Port Clinton, OH 43452 or Peace Lutheran Church, 900 Jefferson St., Port Clinton, OH 43452.
