Marvin L. Barkhau, 78, of Elmore, OH died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon, OH. He was born September 22, 1931 in Elmore, OH to the late Edwin and Marietta (Nehls) Barkhau. He was a 1949 graduate of Harris- Elmore High School and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Owens- Illinois in 1987 as a Mechanical Engineer Supervisor. Marvin was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore where he served in various church offices. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion Post 279, Elmore and was a past Board Member of the Luther Home of Mercy, Williston, OH. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, the former Carol Sondergeld of Elmore; daughters, Lee Ann Barkhau of Bowling Green, OH, and Mary (Ed) Ashley of Rossford, OH; brother, Allan Barkhau of Williston, OH; Grandsons, Grey Barkhau, Charles and Daniel Duggan; Granddaughter, Dayna West; and Great- Granddaughter, Vayda Schmidt. The family will receive friends from 3-8 P.M. Thursday at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. SR 51, Elmore. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore, with the Rev. Stephen Lutz officiating. Interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery.
