Madeline B. Fickert

Madeline B. Fickert, 95 formerly of Springfield, OH died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Otterbein North Shore, Marblehead, OH. She was born in Huntington, NY to the late William and Emma (Behrendt) Janda. She was a graduate of Hofstra University. On August 6, 1946 she married Kurt J. Fickert who preceded her in death March 26, 2010. Madeline was a homemaker who was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Springfield, OH and loved to grow flowers especially orchids. Survivors include her children: Jon Fickert of Oak Harbor, OH, Chris (Kristy) Fickert of Springfield, OH, and Linda Mosbacher of Columbus, OH; grandchildren: Jonny, Amy, Alex, Lindsay, and Kurt. She was also preceded in death by son- in- law Matt Mosbacher and brother Werner Janda. There is no visitation or services. The family will partake in a private scattering of ashes at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to Wittenberg University for the Kurt J. Fickert Scholarship Fund. Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
