M. Eleanor Sneary

M. Eleanor Sneary, 93, of Port Clinton, OH died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH. She was born October 24, 1921 in Lima, Ohio. She married Jack Thomas Keller in 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1943. She married Richard Sneary on May 25, 1946 and he survives. Mr. and Mrs. Sneary lived in Lima until moving to Pittsburgh from 1949 and then moving to Port Clinton in 1955. Mrs. Sneary worked at Erie Ordinance from 1956 until 1965. She was the owner/operator of Sneary's Tots to Teens and Women's Wear from 1965 until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, a Girl Scout leader in Port Clinton for 14 years, a member and Officer of Port Clinton Business and Professional Women and the BPW Women of the Year in 1984, Past-President of the Port Clinton Chamber of Commerce, a Life member of V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Secretary/Treasurer of the Ladies Golf League at Marinewood Golf Club. She was an avid bridge player and loved to golf. Surviving are her husband of 69 years: Richard Sneary; daughters: Jacqueline (John) Keller-Schafer of Venice, Fl and Wheaton, IL, Carla (Dennis) Wagner of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Erika (Matthew) Schechter of Chicago, IL, Alissa (Josh) Watford of Fairbanks, AK, Corwin (Lisa) Wagner of Montery, CA, Curtis (Heather) Wagner of Seattle, WA, Leah (Robert) Sprenger of Oak Harbor, OH, Libby (Ryan) Kyle of Sandusky, Lynn (Mike) Wagner of Marblehead, OH, Lesta (Nate Walters) Wagner of Port Clinton, OH; great-grandchildren: Justin Schechter, Craig Schechter, Sophia Wagner, Jenna Wagner, Caleb Sprenger, Hanna Sprenger, Hailey Sprenger; sister: Dorothy Foster of Lima, OH and brother: Halden (Bonnie) Shelley of Lima, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents: W. Daniel and Freda Shelley; first husband: Jack Thomas Keller ; grandchildren: Lucas Wagner, Logan Wagner and brother: Ralph Shelley. Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, OH. There will be no visitation.
