Louise L. Sleek

Louise L. (Balliet) Willmeth Sleek, 63, of Gibsonburg, OH, died peacefully Monday, October 6, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Oregon, OH on November 4, 1944, a daughter of the late Gene & Frances (McDonald) Balliet. Louise was the office manager at the Brandow Insurance Agency in Elmore for many years. On March 15, 1963, she married Ernest F. Willmeth, and they were later divorced. Louise married Tex Sleek on August 17, 1984, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2007. Since her teenage years, Louise was a devoted Elvis fan. She also enjoyed her husband Tex's family's band, The Sleek Brothers. Louise was an avid reader, and also enjoyed bird watching and gardening. She and Tex enjoyed visiting the Moose and Eagles lodges in Fremont, and occasionally traveling to area casinos. Louise was a loving wife, mother, and sister, and she especially looked forward to babysitting her grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Lesley) Willmeth, Genoa, OH, and Troy Willmeth, Walbridge, OH; daughter, Cathie Willmeth, Genoa, OH; step-daughter, Machelle (Duane) Derr, Tiffin, OH; sisters, Kathy Balliet, Beverly (John) Haar, and Donna Witter; grandchildren, Benjamin Willmeth, Jackie Emch, Christopher Willmeth, Matthew Willmeth, Dakota Willmeth, and Arreonna Turner; step-grandchildren, Tana & Dustin Derr; and Bandit, her dog. Friends are invited to call from 1-5 & 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday. Beverly Hart, Spiritual Care Director of Memorial Home Health & Hospice will officiate, and interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery.
