Lorene Elijah

Lorene Elijah, 89, of Elmore, Ohio, and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Monday, December 8, 2014 at her home. She was born in Adrian, Michigan on September 17, 1925, a daughter of Clarence & Helen B. (Stark) Dillon. Lorene was a graduate of Adrian High School, and was a homemaker. She prepared meals for the Reynolds Corners Rotary Club in Toledo for many years. Lorene enjoyed reading and art of all kinds. She loved tending her flowers and doing sewing projects. On October 24, 1944, Lorene married Lester Elijah, Jr., and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2006, after over 60 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Jake) Galloway, Elmore, OH, and Bruce (Catherine) Elijah, Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Alison (Anthony) Blair, Meredith (Ken) Furch, Evan Elijah, Daniel Elijah, Grace Elijah, and Jarri (Brooks) Bunde; great-grandchildren, Yasman, Madison, Matthew, Eliza, Brooklyn, Scott, Bailey, and Jeffrey. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister Ladora Davis. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. S.R. 51, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 12, 2014. Pastor Stephen Lutz of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate, and interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Promedica Memorial Hospital, Fremont, Ohio.
