Kathryn M. Redman, 93 of Graytown, OH died Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Genoa Care Center under Hospice Care. She was born November 4, 1931 in Lindsey, OH to the late Martin and Katherine (Bures) Smahaj. On May 11, 1957 she married John A. Redman, and he survives. Kathryn was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor where she was involved in her earlier years with the Rosary Altar Society.
She enjoyed planting and arranging flowers, baking, gardening, and listening to her vinyl records. Since her parents hailed from Czechoslovakia, Katie was fluent in the language. This surely contributed to her prolific gift of gab. She was renowned for her delicious coffee cake and pies. Kathryn’s greatest treasure though, was her Catholic Faith, which she passed onto her children.
Survivors include her husband John of Graytown, OH; sons: John Redman Jr. of Oak Harbor, OH, Michael (Terri) Redman of Bowling Green, OH, and Mark (Joan) Redman of Battle Ground, WA; grandchildren: Cortney, Ren, River, Cole, Joseph, and Gianna; and sister Elizabeth “Betty” Mlynek. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Joseph Smahaj, Cyril Smahaj, Anne Mrkva, Mary Konczney, and Johnny Smahaj.
