Kathleen Emma Soenichsen

Kathleen E. Soenichsen, 90 of Elmore, OH died Monday, May 9, 2016 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. She was born June 30, 1925 in Elmore to the late Leonard and Lucy (Deitemyer) Wendt. She was the valedictorian for the 1943 graduating class of Harris- Elmore High School. She then graduated with honors from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor in Education. On June 11, 1950 she married Carl H. Soenichsen who preceded her in death on December 21, 1993. Mrs. Soenichsen taught business and typing at both Harris-Elmore High School and Oak Harbor High School from where she retired in 1980. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Delta Chi Chapter of Sigma Alpha Sorority, Elmore. She enjoyed playing the organ and genealogy and while teaching was in charge of the school year book. Survivors include her children: Susan (Roger) Minier of Oak Harbor, Steven Soenichsen of Elmore, and Carol (Don) Flick of Elmore; siblings: Shirley Powell of Rolling Meadows, IL, Judy Damschroder of Elmore, and Roy Wendt of Longview, TX; grandchildren: Stephanie (Eddie) Lovins, Andrew (Chelsea Garver) Flick and Bradley Flick; great- granddaughter Allison Anna Lovins. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Friday, May 13, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore with the Rev. Stephen Lutz officiating. Burial will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery.
