Katheryn C. Kidd

Katheryn C. "Katie" Kidd, 83, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on July 6, 1924, in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Erich and Hazel (Warfel) Rode. She worked as a ladies clothing buyer for LaSalle's in Bowling Green, then at the former Laemson's, which is now Hudson's in Toledo, Ohio and finally at the B.R. Baker Co. in Toledo where she retired in 1968. On March 7, 1942, she married Richard "Mel" Kidd, and he preceded her in death on May 25, 2000. She is survived by her son, David (Deborah) Kidd, Maumee, Ohio; daughter, Holly (Gus) Aragus, Florida; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; brother, Joe Rode, Bowling Green, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Rode. Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, with Sr. M. Jane Fisher, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Care Center or to Stein Hospice.
