John R. Lockhart

John R. Lockhart, 79, of Port Clinton, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born July 5, 1935 in Toledo, OH the son of D. Maurice and Phyllis (Brady) Lockhart. He married Janet Vess on March 21, 1987 and she survives. Mr. Lockhart worked for General Motors at the New Departure Plant, Sandusky in skilled trades. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, the Port Clinton Elks Lodge No. 1718, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1610, Port Clinton. He loved fishing. Surviving are his wife: Janet; daughters: Jody (Donald) Chevalier of Port Clinton, Janine Spindler of Port Clinton, Jacqueline (Jason) McCann of Port Clinton, Tisha (Dwight) Wolf-Hergert of Michigan; son: David (Linda) Wolf of Indiana; grandchildren: David R. Deemer, Christopher Lockhart, Joshua Wolf, Spencer Wolf, Benjamin Wolf, Olivia Hergert, Johnathan McCann; former wife: Rita Lockhart of Port Clinton; nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Donald and Beverly Lockhart. A celebration of John's life will be held 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church, 900 S. Jefferson Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at a time yet to be determined.
