Jean S. Kresser

Jean Stevenson Kresser, age 90, died June 14, 2010 at Otterbein North Shore Assisted Living,. Originally from North Baltimore , Ohio , she worked as a stenographer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and at the Pentagon during World War II, as a legal secretary for Paul E. Miller, Sr. of North Baltimore , and was a case manager for several years at the Ottawa County Welfare Department. She was the widow of Ray Kresser, former owner and manager of Kresser's Kolor Korner in Port Clinton, Ohio. She was the mother of three children and instilled in them her sense of service to those less fortunate and her love of books, art, travel, and other cultures. She frequently visited her daughters, Linda and Mary, who resided in Italy and Germany and her son who resides in California. Her daughter, Linda, was a member of the Peace Corps and Vista , and is an educator. Her son, Michael, is Executive Director of the Sixth District Appellate Program in California , and her daughter, Mary, is a social worker. She is survived by her son, Michael and his wife, Darby Siempelkamp of Monte Sereno, CA, her daughter, Linda of Adana, Turkey, and her daughter, Mary and her husband Steven Bryant, of Chesterfield , VA. She has four grandsons, Luke Kresser, Reece Kresser, Brennan Kresser, Justin Bryant-Kresser and one granddaughter, Remy Kresser. She is survived by her nephews, Paul E. Miller, Jr. of Findlay , Ohio , Craig Stevenson of Decatur , Georgia and her niece, Susan Stevenson of Americus , Georgia . Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. , Sunday, July 4 th with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Reverend Jerry Phelps at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Peninsula Chapel, 7755 East Harbor Rd , Lakeside-Marblehead , OH . Interment will be at 9:00 a.m. , Monday, July 5 th at Catawba Island Township Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Otterbein North Shore Assisted Living or the Jane Baker House, 9700 North Shore Blvd , Lakeside-Marblehead , Ohio 43440 . Jean's family thanks the staff of Otterbein North Shore Assisted Living, the staff of the Jane Baker House and the staff of Hospice of Memorial Hospital, Clyde , Ohio for their care and concern for her.
