Janith A. Huston

Janith A. Huston, 65, of Catawba Island, OH died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. She was born Feb. 19, 1946 in Port Clinton, the daughter of the late Glenn and Sylvia (Sorensen) Ellithorpe. She married Douglas O. Meyer on June 28, 1969 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1999. She later married Jack Huston on March 5, 2005 and he survives. Jan worked in finance for U. S. Gypsum, Phil's Inn, and the Civilian Marksmanship Program, and was a loaned executive to the United Way. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. Jan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was was an amazing gardener and seamstress, and cared for animals dearly. She was a devoted member of Playmakers Civic Theatre for the past 42 years, an organization she loved deeply, where she directed and acted in numerous plays as well as served as president, treasurer, business manager, and program editor, among other roles. She and her husband Jack were members of the Port Clinton Elks Lodge 1718, the Port Clinton Yacht Club, and Nor’ Easter Club. Surviving are her husband: Jack Huston; daughters: Adrienne Meyer (Warwick Anderson) of Ypsilanti, MI, Tracy Meyer of Los Angeles, CA; step-daughter: Christie (Bill) Eckert of Castalia, OH; step-son: Mike Huston of Milan, OH; grandchild: Annika Anderson Meyer; step-grandchildren: Zoe Eckert and Billie Joe Eckert; brother: Jim Ellithorpe of Florida and sister: Judy Bodenmiller of Urbana. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton where visitation will be held Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Playmakers Civic Theatre, 604 W. Sixth St., Port Clinton.
