James F. Wittman, 70, of Graytown, Ohio, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. He was born in Graytown on September 14, 1944, a son of Emery & Dorothy (Porath) Wittman. Jim was an employee of Chrysler at the Toledo Machining Plant in Perrysburg, Ohio for 32 years, retiring in 2001. He was also a member of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Reserves for many years. On October 15, 1966, Jim married the former Lynne Canter, and she survives. Also surviving are their children, Michael (Julie) Wittman, Port Clinton, and Amy (William) Kitzler, Graytown; brother, Paul (Pam) Wittman, Graytown; and grandchildren, Morgan & Samantha Miller, Jamie & Reilly Wittman, and Charles Hursey. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Emery & Dorothy Wittman, and father and mother-in-law, George & Madelyn Snider. Jim's family was very important to him, especially his precious grandchildren. Private family services will be held with Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, handling arrangements for Jim's family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Reserves, 315 Madison St., Port Clinton, OH 43452 or the Mercy Cancer Center at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, 2600 Navarre Ave., Oregon, OH 43616.
