James C. Kalinoski, 68, of Catawba Island, OH died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at University Hospital, Cleveland, OH surrounded by his family. He was born April 29, 1947 in Fremont, OH the son of Edward S. and Irene A. (Waggoner). He married Susan French on April 6, 1968. Jim was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War at the CuChi Tunnels during the Tet Offensive. He retired from Ford Motor Company Service Department, Sandusky in 2002 after 33 years. He was a member of Goodguys and N.S.R.A.-National Street Rods Association. Jim was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed cruising in his 1932 Ford Three Window Coupe with a Blown Big Block Chevy and on his Harley. He was a former member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1610 Port Clinton and a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 2480, Port Clinton. Surviving are his wife: Susan; sons: Michael J. (Charlotte) Kalinoski of Marblehead, Jason R. (Laura) Kalinoski of Tallahassee, FL; daughter: Melissa S. (Curt) Hanson of Catawba Island; grandchildren: Zachary, Lauren, Andrew, Caden and Jonah. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother and sister-in-law: Edward and Jennifer Kalinoski and his mother and father-in-law: William and Irene Lattimore. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 6:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, OH. Prayer services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:00 am followed by a cruise around Catawba Island and then on to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 541 Church Rd. LakesideMarblehead where visitation will then be held from 11:00am 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Chris Young Officiating. The family requests everyone to attend in Street Rod and Harley attire and to participate in the cruise with their hot rods and motorcycles. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Catawba Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to North Coast Cancer Care, 417 Quarry Lakes Dr., Sandusky, OH 44870.
