Helen T. Danchisen, 94, of Marblehead, Ohio died Monday, September 7, 2015 atStein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born May 20, 1921 in the village of Marblehead, the daughter of John and Anna (Chagin) Tadrack. She wed George J. Danchisen of Marblehead on September 28, 1940, whom preceded her in death on April 17, 1992. Mrs. Danchisen's noteworthy career at The Biro Manufacturing Company began in 1939, where through the years her professional contributions spanned sales, executive administration, and legal support. She officially retired after 66 years of service in 2005. Helen was also the proprietor of Danchisen's Marathon of Marblehead, established by her late husband as Danchisen's Sohio in 1960. Helen was a lifelong, devout member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church where she previously had managed bingo and the annual rummage sale, sang in the choir, was an active member of the Ladies Aid, and was instrumental in the building of the church at the current location. She also volunteered her time to the community bloodmobiles for twenty years. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid baker, and filled her time with walks on the beach, swimming in the lake, playing bingo, painting, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Danchisen is preceded in death by her husband George J. Danchisen and sisters: Veronica Kokinda, Magdalene Falcon, Anne Nester and an infant brother: Peter Tadrack. Surviving are her only son: George M. (Mary) Danchisen of Marblehead; grandchildren: Theresa (Brian) Bahm of Marblehead, George A. Danchisen of Catawba Island, Christine (Kevin) Treski of Chicago; great-grandchildren: Samantha Marez, Gilbert Marez and Elliana Danchisen, and nieces and nephews. Helen is warmly remembered as a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother by her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of happy memories. Divine Liturgy will be held 10:00 am Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Mary's Byzantine Church, 506 E. Main St. Marblehead, OH. Her body will lie in state for one hour prior to the liturgy. Visitation will be held Friday from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. LakesideMarblehead, OH. Panachida services will be held Friday evening at 7:00 in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Marblehead, OH.
