Helen Ann Keck, 83, of Marblehead Ohio, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Center in Lakeside, Ohio. She was born on October 4, 1931 in Marblehead, the daughter of the late Mike and Anna (Batcha) Capko. She married David Keck on May 31, 1958 and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1977. Helen Ann graduated from Lakeside High School in 1949 and furthered her education at Bowling Green State University where she graduated in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She then taught various levels of education at Danbury High School for over 30 years until her retirement in 1995, where she was also a librarian. She was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Marblehead, where she was in the choir, Ladies Aide, and also a catechism teacher. She was also a member of the Danbury Teachers Association, as well as a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority while at Bowling Green State University. During her free time she enjoyed reading, music, sports, especially watching the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Bowling Green Falcons. She also enjoyed socializing with friends and family. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all. Survivors include her sons: Jeff (Tessa) Keck, Vermilion, Ohio and Dan (Chris) Keck, Kure Beach, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Brad, Katelyn, Lindsey, Colleen, Heather, Andro, as well as many loving extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. On Tuesday, June 16, 2015, Parastas Services will begin at 5:30pm followed by visitation from 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 506 E. Main Street, from 9am until the Panachida Service at 9:45am. The Office of Christian Burial will follow at 10am with Reverend Robert Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helen Ann Keck book scholarship fund at Danbury High School.
