Harold R. "Bob" Barry, 86, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at his home. He was born in Fremont, Indiana on December 4, 1924, a son of Harold R. & Marion (Waters) Barry. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Bob was Staff Sergeant in the 198th Armored Field Artillery. He was a member of American Legion Post #114 in Oak Harbor, and the Disabled American Veterans in Toledo, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bob was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Port Clinton and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, Salem Township. He was a millwright at U.S. Reduction in Toledo. In 1969, Bob married the former Donna Fox, and she survives. Also surviving is a son, Harold R. Barry, Northwood, Ohio; step-son Daniel Gernheuser, Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren; Harold R. and Erica Barry, and great-grandson, Oran Harold Barry. He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-daughter Carol Gernheuser, and a sister, Janice Barry. Services will be held at 11am, Thursday, January 13, 2011at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, with the Rev. Cheryl Wessel officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
