Gerald "Jerry" Walterbusch

Gerald Lee Walterbusch Gerald "Jerry" Walterbusch, 61, of Oak Harbor passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in his home on Saturday, October 6th, 2018. Jerry was born on April 29th 1957, to Wilbert and Dolores (Schroeder) Walterbusch. He was born in St. Marys Ohio. In 1969 he and his family moved to Oak Harbor. He was a graduate of the Oak Harbor High School, class of 1975. He married the love of his life, Sandra McCormick on April 28th 1984. They celebrated 34 years of marriage together. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Sandi, children Leanne (Kurt) Sutkus, Heidi (Ben) Weiland, & Michael (Ashley) Walterbusch. Granddaughters, Erin & Maddison Sutkus, Aubree Walterbusch, & Paislee Weiland. Brother Gary (Jen) Walterbusch, Sisters Carol (Dennis) Woggon, Doris (Rod) Tebay, Sharon (Lenny) Ball, and Nancy Walterbusch. Mother and father -in-law Barb & George McCormick, Brother-in-laws Gene McCormick, & Tim McCormick. Sister-in-laws Diane (Tom) Sheeley, Deb (Bob) Less, Kim (Bob) Slack, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and friends who thought of him as their dad/brother. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an enthusiastic Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Sylvania OH Lodge 1579 since 1985. He was formerly a volunteer fireman for the Carroll Twp. Fire Department. Jerry started working at Northern Manufacturing in 1984. He worked in the shipping and receiving department and was a forklift master. He was often called "The Warden." When Jerry retired on April 2, 2018, he was recognized as one of the founding fathers of Northern Manufacturings new building. The family would like to thank everyone at the Mercy Health- Perrysburg Cancer Center, Heartland Hospice, St. Charles Hospital, Dr. Ragothaman and his home health team for all of the wonderful care they provided for Jerry and his family. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 3:00 - 9:00 pm at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust St. Oak Harbor, Ohio. Addition visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 - 1:00 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in the funeral home, officiated by Doug Moyer, a family friend. A Special thank you to Kevin VanSickle for singing one of Jerrys most requested songs at the service. Burial will be in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
