Gaylord K. Vogt, 79, of Port Clinton, died Friday June 11, 2010 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. He was born August 31, 1930 in Fremont, the son of the late Kenneth and Bessie (Gyde) Vogt. Gaylord was a graduate of the Ohio State University and was a CPA with Clarence Streeter for many years and in 1966 went to work for General Motors in Sandusky until his retirement after 28 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army Signal Corp. Gaylord was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, the American Legion, Elk's Lodge, Masonic Lodge, the Men's Prayer Breakfast, the Port Clinton Yacht Club and Colonial Club, all of Port Clinton. On July 24, 1954 he married Ruth (Ewersen) and she survives. Also surviving are his daughters Kathy (Terry) Wolfe, Jane (Dwayne) Fleming, Maria Walters and Martha (Duane) Snyder all of Port Clinton and Kristina (Marty) VonBurg of Perry, OH; twelve grandchildren; a sister Judy (Ron) Heiks and brother in law Russ Deal. In addition to his parents, Gaylord was preceded in death by a sister Norma Deals and brothers Darrel and Dale Vogt. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton and from 10 am Wednesday until the time of services at 11 at the Peace Lutheran Church, 900 Jefferson Street, Port Clinton. The Rev. Mike Wiechers will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Music and Fine Arts Fund or the Church Building Fund.
