Fritz Rall

Fritz Rall, of Port Clinton, Ohio, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, January 23, 2015. Born in Urach, Germany to Gustav & Elise (Eichenbrenner) Rall on April 26, 1921, he spent his boyhood years in Berlin. A university degreed mechanical engineer, he immigrated to the United States in 1954 with his wife Eva and their two young daughters. Fritz first worked for a German tool and die manufacturer in New Jersey and in 1960 was transferred to Cleveland, Ohio, where he moved his family, which now also included a son. Catawba Island has been their retirement home since 1988. He loved living along the lake, gardening and enjoying sunset walks with his wife at the Catawba Island Club. He will be immensely missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Eva; his children, Katja (Galen) Koepke, Susanne (Richard) McWhorter, Peter (Jo Ann) Rall; grandchildren, Braden and Lauren Rall ; and great-granddaughter Baby Nuna. The family will receive friends after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Port Clinton, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday. Rev. Timothy F. Ferris will officiate, and interment will follow at Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton.
