Faith E. Wargowsky

Faith Elaine Wargowsky, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, Ohio. Faith was born in Sandusky, Ohio on February 20, 1929, the oldest daughter of Walter & Bertha (Koehler) Buchholtz. She was a graduate of Sandusky High School and attended Bowling Green State University. On April 8, 1950, she married Donald S. Wargowsky, and they lived and raised their family in Oak Harbor, Ohio. Faith served as a substitute teacher for Oak Harbor Schools for many years. Faith and Don moved to Aiken, South Carolina in 1980, and lived there until September of 2013, when they moved to Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton. Faith was an incredible and dedicated homemaker. Her happiest moments were those she shared with her family and dear friends. Her kind and loving nature blessed many, and she delighted in sharing her delicious home-cooked meals to all that visited her home. She was nurtured in her faith through her membership at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, and was also a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Aiken, South Carolina. Faith loved music and played the accordion as a young girl. She also wrote poetry and enjoyed reading and traveling. Faith is survived by her husband, Judge Donald S. Wargowsky; son, Donald Wargowsky II, and daughter, Tanya Wargowsky; grandchildren, Craig (Heather) Wargowsky, Shaun (Karina) Wargowsky, and Benjamin Warsaw; great-grandchildren, Leila Wargowsky and Dylan Wargowsky; sister, Dorothy (Tom) Radtke, and brother, David (Shirley) Buchholtz. She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant granddaughter, Heidi. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 Ottawa St., Oak Harbor. Rev. John Stirewalt will officiate, and interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor at a later date. Following the service, a luncheon will be served at the church.
