Eunice M. Goetschius

Eunice May Goetschius, 86, of Lakeside, Ohio and formerly of Elmore, Ohio, died Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Community. She was born May 8, 1921 in Elmore, the daughter of the late Albert & Edna E. (Brown) Weis. She married Ray M. Goetschius on Dec. 18, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2003. Eunice received her BA in Education in 1943 from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio. She taught English and Home Economics at Scipio Republic School and later substitute taught at Woodmore High School. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Marblehead, and was formerly a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore. Mrs. Goetschius was in charge of the library of Otterbein North Shore and was an active member of both churches to which she belonged. Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca (David) Tennant of Fort Wayne, IN, Susan (William) Manch of McLean, VA; three grandchildren, Rob Manch, Pat Manch, and Chris Wulfhorst. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Woodrow Weis. Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M. Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore, OH.
