Eileen M. Russell

Eileen M. Russell, 87, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Northside Hospital Cherokee, Canton, Georgia. She was born in Elmore, Ohio, on September 25, 1926, the daughter of Gaylord & Alma (Hoffman) Schott. On June 26, 1946, Eileen married Carl Russell, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2003. Together, Eileen and Carl operated Russell's Music Center in Oak Harbor. Eileen also was a school bus driver for Port Clinton City Schools. She was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, where she was a member of the Afternoon Guild. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Port Clinton, Ohio. Eileen is survived by her children, Sharon (Jim) Paulus, Canton, GA, Betty (Jim) Grindstaff, Port Clinton, Kathleen Russell, Oak Harbor, and Carl (Carin) Russell, Port Clinton. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and 2 step great-great grandchildren. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, granddaughter, Sherileen Adams, and sister, Lavonne Tritten. Friends are invited to call from 6-8 P.M. Sunday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 165 Toussaint Street, Oak Harbor. Rev. David A. Voll will officiate, and interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Following the interment service, a luncheon will be held at St. Paul Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Improvement Fund of St. Paul United Church of Christ.
